There's something about USA brands that Europeans just don't quite get. On the other hand there are some brands that just "get" Europe. Black Diamond is top of the class in this respect.
Awesome product that quite simply gets on with the job, designed to do a job and not fit a price bracket, and absolutely first rate it is.
There's a mulititude of specialist outdoor activities that BD excellin. Ski - backcountry - the gnarlier the better and telemark too. Alpine climbing - the gold standard when it comes to technical hardware - see their online digital catalogue here: http://catalog.blackdiamondequipment.com/alpinism2012/en_eur .
Rock climbing - if there's a better choice I'd like to know what it is http://catalog.blackdiamondequipment.com/rockclimbing2012/en_eur/

OK, I know it's a marketing tool and it's ultimately designed to make us all buy more gear but just look at the photos (and the nice shiny climbing tools) and tell me you're not tempted!
